It is with great sadness that the family of Edwin Arthur Quinn announces his peaceful passing on August 5, 2025, at the age of 88, surrounded by his loving family.

A long time resident of Surf City, New Jersey, Ed was born in Brooklyn, New York, the youngest of five children to Harry and Agnes Quinn. He was a proud Brooklynite and a standout three-sport athlete at Brooklyn Prep, where he earned all-boro honors as a shooting guard. His passion for basketball earned him a scholarship to St. John's University, where he continued to shine on the court.

Ed went on to have a prolific career in the motion picture industry, where he was not only respected but deeply admired. Some notable feature films that he worked on included Klute, Love Story, The Godfather, The Taking of Pelham 123, The French Connection, The Exorcist, Taxi Driver and Raging Bull. Followed by a small cameo as Doris Murray's (Rosie O'Donnell) father in A League of Their Own. As a member of the executive board and a proud union man, Ed was known for his unwavering dedication to his crews. He stood firmly for what was right and just-there was truly no stronger advocate for labor than Ed Quinn. His legacy in the industry lives on in the many stories shared and still to be told by friends and colleagues alike.

A decorated United States Marine, Ed trained at Camp Lejeune and served honorably during the Korean War.

Ed's greatest legacy, however, was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife Wendy, with whom he shared 27 wonderful years and a life full of laughter, warmth, and memories by the sea. Together, they spent over 30 cherished years in LBI, where they shared countless meals, unforgettable gatherings, and a home always filled with love.

Ed was predeceased by his wife, Gloria Quinn, the mother of Edwin, Jr, Kevin and James. He was a devoted father to his sons Edwin, Jr, Kevin, James, Billy, and Jill, and an integral part of his grandchildren's lives. "Pop," as he was lovingly known, adored each of his grandchildren: Jack, Harry, Sidney, Blake, Brooke, Max, Paddy, Brian, Bridget, Gavin, Lucas, Brandon, Kelly, and Michael, as well as his great-grandchildren Cora, Maeve, and Wilson. His love and guidance shaped generations, and his presence will be deeply missed but forever felt.

A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 13th, 2025 from 10:00am-12:00 pm at Bugbee-Riggs Funeral Home, 1119 Long Beach Blvd., (corner of 12th St and Blvd.), Ship Bottom, NJ 08008. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 12:30 pm at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 4700 Long Beach Blvd, Brant Beach, NJ 08008. Cremation is private.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, AR 66675 in Edwin's memory would be appreciated. https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/

After the services, all are welcome to join in celebrating Ed's extraordinary life at: 2410 Bay Vista, Surf City, NJ.

We will miss seeing Ed on the beach, riding by on his bike and lending a tool when needed. A wonderful neighbor for over 30 years
