Phillip "Bush Hog" Denning

Phillip Denning "Bush Hog" – Age 71, passed away January 6, 2026, Nashville, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas Denning and Alma Suttle Denning; siblings, Linda Jordan, Steve Denning, Barbara Jane Denning.

Survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Debbie Denning; children, Tammy Jenkins (Tony), Curtis Denning (Casey), Lisa Clouse (James); grandchildren, Tony Jenkins, II. (Abby), Alex Gerlinger (Ben), LeeAnne Fullum (Drake), Gracie Jenkins (Chevy), Cayden Denning, Waylon Clouse, Sydney Jenkins, Camden Denning, and Kendall Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Remington, Millie, and Sadie Gerlinger, Drake Fullum, III; and brother, Bobby Denning.

Phillip was a hardworking man that owned Phillips Demolition for over 35 years. He also worked at Kroger for many years and was a jack of all trades. He would try anything to make a dollar. He was a very dedicated father to his children and Papa to all his grands.. He was always having fun and pulling pranks on his colleagues. At the end of the day, he was always there for his family no matter what.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Western Hills Church, located at 7565 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, TN 37209 with Pastor Jack Davis officiating. Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at Western Hills Church.
