Phillip Ray George, age 58, passed away at Marion General Hospital on May 25, 2024. Phillip was born to the late Roy and Judy (Emmons) George on September 5, 1965, in Mt. Gilead, Ohio. Phillip married Brenda (Sayre) George on September 4, 2010. Phillip is preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, Allen George and sister, Theresa White. Phillip is survived by wife, Brenda George; sons, Jason Matthews, Shawn George, William (Melissa) George, and Devin George; daughters, Tasheena Kirk and Dana Kirk; brothers, Steven (Phyllis) George, Darrel (Robin) George; grandchildren: Ashton, Corey, Caleb, Carson, Brande, Kastena, Joelynne, Kenslea, Caston, Vincent, Natalie, Allisa, Halie, Atheenah, Lailah, Abull, Trenton, Abby, Kyleigh, Emily, Bentley, Neveah, Paisley, Jasmine, 1 great-grandchild on the way, nephews: Scott, Nathan, Brandon, nieces: Lisa, Bailey, Andrea, mother-in-law Willmina Sayre, in-laws: Charles Sayre, Paul and Tammy Sayre, Don and Vada Sayre, Elizabeth George, Aden DePolo, and many friends. Phillip worked for a number of years in maintenance with Englefield Oil Company. He also worked with General Castings and Carter Lumber and retired as a HAM Operator (151). Phillip enjoyed simple pastimes such as fishing, flea marketing, listening to music and playing, he played some guitar and played the spoons. He loved tinkering with electronics and will be very deeply missed. Visiting hours for Phillip are at Marion Enterprise Baptist Church, 130 Orton St. Marion Ohio 43302, Friday, May 31st, from 3PM-5PM. There will be a service following visiting hours at 5PM. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Association. Moments of remembrance may be left online at cremationservicesofohio.com.
