Beloved Megan, Laura and all the Murray Family,
In the wake of the loss of a family icon, Almighty God beckons home another one of your cherished. Since receiving the tragic news I have been at a loss for words and now, reflecting upon the wake, I was enlightened by the words of the priest.
Philip, a child of God, only rests - in time - though eternally revels in what our human eye, our human ear, and our feeble human mind can only possibly imagine. In tragedy sanctification is disguised. I will continue to offer prayer and sacrifice that you take comfort in that - notwithstanding the mourning which you will certainly experience. After all, mourning is a beatitude proclaimed by our Blessed Lord!
Be confident that Philip is always with you, now a strong advocate before his Blessed Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and especially at the Eucharistic table when we all convene together in communion with all the saints.
Only in faith can we attain and nurture this peace and be firm in living out what St. Paul told the Thessalonians, that we must give thanks in all the circumstances, for this is the will of Almighty God in the Name of Christ Jesus. I will continue to pray that you take solace in this reality of our Catholic faith.
Honored, blessed, and privileged to know and love you. God is good!
Your fellow friend on the journey,
Nick DiGiovanni

Dear Laura, Megan, Frank & Alanna,
On behalf of the AFC Staff, we send you our heartfelt condolences and assurances of our prayers for the eternal repose of the soul of Phil, your healing & recovery, Laura, and for your strength and consolation as your bear and offer your grief, uniting it with that of Jesus & Mary in this Holy Week.
You know, our lives are in the merciful hands of God. He knows best when to lead us forth from this "valley of tears" to the eternal life we are created for. I know your faith in the Resurrection of Jesus will take away the edge of your grief and anchor your hope & trust in His providence.
Please be assured of the support of our love and prayers. I look forward to speaking to you. I send you my blessing.
May both Phil & Dan be interceding for us as we pray for them.
All for the Sacred & Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, all through the Sorrowful & Immaculate Heart of Mary, all in union with St. Joseph,
Fr. Kevin Barrett
