Phillip Terry Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Schmid Funeral Home - Mt. Washington on Feb. 11, 2026.
Phillip Allan Terry, a cherished member of the Louisville community, born on November 8, 1940, has peacefully passed away in his hometown on February 10, 2026. A devout Christian and a proud U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, Phillip walked through the gates of heaven, leaving behind a legacy of faith, family, and unwavering service to his country and community.

He was the beloved husband of Jeanne Terry, to whom he was married for 64 joyous years. Their love story stood as a testament to commitment and devotion, inspiring all who knew them. Together, they raised a family that included their children Dawna Dalton and her husband Russ, Steve Terry and his wife Alex, and Allan Terry with his wife Melinda. Phillip was a guiding light in the lives of his siblings, Judy Boston and her husband Chuck, Susan Bronger and her husband J.R., and his brother Lyman Terry, who will greatly miss his wisdom and warmth.

Phillip's life was enriched by the laughter and love of his grandchildren, Andrea Thomas and her husband Corey, Vincente Dalton, Michelle McDaniel and her husband Scott, Steven Terry and his wife Sarah, Katharina Terry, Mackenzie DeVary and her husband Kyle, and Morgan Murphy and her husband Hunter. He also cherished every moment with his eight great-grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy.

Before retiring, Phillip dedicated many years of service to Brownsboro Dental Arts and later found his calling as the owner of Your Denture Lab, where he combined his passion for craftsmanship with a desire to help others. His work ethic and integrity were the cornerstones of his professional life, and he was respected by colleagues and customers alike.

Phillip's commitment to his faith was evident in his involvement with the Spirit Life Church, where he was a steadfast member. His faith guided his actions and provided comfort and solace to those around him. As a veteran, Phillip's bravery and sacrifice were a source of pride, not only for his family but for the entire community. His service to his country was a profound chapter in his life, one that he reflected on with honor and humility.

As we bid farewell to Phillip Allan Terry, we do so with hearts full of gratitude for the time we were privileged to share with him. His life was a living example of the Christian virtues of love, kindness, and compassion. We take solace in knowing that he has been welcomed into the arms of our Lord and Savior, where he is reunited with his parents Lyman and Pearl Terry, his brother Stephen Terry, and the heavenly host.

Phillip's absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, but his spirit will continue to live on through the cherished memories and the enduring impact he had on his family, friends, and community. As we celebrate his life, we remember a man of great character, a loving patriarch, and a loyal friend. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his story continue to inspire us all in the days to come.

His memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday February 21, 2026 at the Spirit of Life Church, 6901 Outer Loop. A private inurnment will be held at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central. A visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.

Phil was such a wonderful man who will be lovingly missed and remembered. A very long time ago we met Phil & Jeanne as neighbors who became dear friends! He taught this city girl how to plant potatoes in my backyard. I will fondly remember our couple´s trip to Greenbow River state park many, many years ago. I will be praying for God´s comfort and peace for all the family.

I´m so heartbroken to hear this. Mr. Terry was such a special part of my childhood memories and was always one of the sweetest, kindest men. I can still remember how he always had a warm smile and made everyone feel welcome. It´s rare to come across someone with such a gentle spirit and genuine goodness.

Please know how much he meant to so many of us who grew up around him. His kindness left a lasting impression that I´ll always carry with me. I´m praying for comfort, strength, and peace for you all in the days ahead. He will truly be missed but never forgotten.
