Mrs. Phoebe Rosetta Robinson Shinholster, 86, passed on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House.
Born April 8, 1937 in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph C. Robinson and Mary Linda Gaddy Robinson.
Educated in the public schools of Rowan County, she was a graduate of Dunbar High School, class of 1955 and Livingstone College where she received her B.S. Degree in Business Education and later earned her Masters
Degree in Library Science.
Mrs. Shinholster retired from the Public Schools of Jefferson City, Missouri as a dedicated teacher.
A member of New Hope AME Zion Church, Spencer and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. She also volunteered with the Love
Christian Center After School Program. A life member of the Livingstone College Alumni Association where she served
as chairperson of the hospitality Comm.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ensign Jonathan L. Shinholster; former husband, Dr.
David L. Shinholster; brothers, Joseph Robinson, Walter Robinson, George Robinson, and John Robinson.
Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Celeste Shinholster of Charlotte; sister, Maggie Robinson, East
Spencer; sister-in-law, Ethel Kennedy Robinson, East Spencer, and a host nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives
and friends.
