Phyllis Borcherding

Phyllis Ann Borcherding, 81, died October 12, 2024 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon with family by her side.
She was born on February 11, 1943 in Gary, Indiana to the late Oral and Ruth (Siefferman) Glasco. She married Raymond Borcherding on February 19, 1961 in Orland Park. They were blessed with 63 years of marriage before his passing on May 22, 2024.
Mrs. Borcherding is survived by her children, Danny and wife, Katherine Borcherding, Dee Ann and husband, Robert Stewart and Kristen Borcherding; grandchildren, Phillip Borcherding, Alex White and wife, Brooke, Olivia White, Cameron Stewart and wife, Sydney, Paisley Stewart and partner, Morgan, and Annie White; great grandchildren, Jonah, Aurora, and Jack; sisters, Sondra and husband, Howard Douglas, and Jan and husband, Harold Leneave; brothers, Oral Glasco and Roger Glasco and wife, Carolyn; and sister-in-laws, Betty Eddings and Irma Borcherding.
Phyllis worked as a real estate broker for many years. She was a past president of the Egyptian Board of Realtors and was awarded Realtor of the Year in 1994. She was a talented gardener, seamstress, hair stylist, and cook. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards and games with friends and family and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. She was known for her hospitality, keen sense of humor and her caring nature. Above all, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
Per her wishes, a family graveside service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Iuka at a later date. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Borcherding's honor to the American Heart Association or Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
