Phyllis Brettschneider, 85, of Huntley, passed away early Sunday morning, October 23, 2022, at White Oaks of McHenry.
She was born October 24, 1936, in Elgin the daughter of Edward and Eleanor (Rood) Schuring. Phyllis was a member of the 1954 Class of Dundee High School. She married Norman Brettschneider on January 22, 1955, and they became residents of Huntley in 1967. Phyllis was employed by Borden's Ice Cream in Elgin, and then by Speck Oil (bookkeeper & office manager) of Barrington. She was a member of the Huntley Lioness Club, the Huntley Booster's Club, and St. Peter's Lutheran Church in rural Dundee. Phyllis loved golfing, bowling, playing pinochle, and scrapbooking, but most of all she loved attending all of her grandkid's activities.
She is survived by her children, Mark (Linda), Lynette (Don) Schiesher, and Barbara (Chuck) Cosenza; grandchildren, Collin (Ashley) Brettschneider, Austin (Kendall) Brettschneider, Logan Brettschneider, Courtney (Alan) Urban, Mallory (Chas) Kennedy, and Samantha (Matthew) White; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Reindl; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Cathy; husband, Norm on Feb. 1, 2022; and granddaughter, Tracy; and brothers, Roy and Donald Schuring.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 18N377 Galligan Rd. Dundee. Following a luncheon, the burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Cemetery in Elgin.
Visitation will be prior to services from 9:30 - 10:30 at the church.
Memorials in her name may be directed to the church.
