Michael M Brettschneider

Michael Meyer Brettschneider, age 84, of Jefferson City, MO passed away on February 7, 2024 at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born on December 10, 1939 in Jefferson City, Missouri; the son of Leo V. and Edna Maddock Brettschneider. During his service in the United States Army, he was united in marriage to Roberta Lee Blakeley on July 27, 1963, at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana.
He was a member of the first graduating class of Helias High School in 1957 and recieved his bachelors and masters degrees in Business Administration for Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri. He served in the United States Army and Army Reserves from 1961 until his retirement in 1993, achieving the rank of Colonel. In addition to his military service, he served as a Section Manager with the State of Missouri, Division of Personnel, Missouri Office of Administration for 31 years.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City, the Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion, Post 5.
Michael is survived by his wife of 60 years, Roberta Brettschneider; his daughter, Jean Marie (Ray) Rush of Henley; sons, Mark (Christina) Brettschneider of Henley and David (Heather) Brettschneider of Lake Ozark. Additionally, he is survived by seven grandchildren, Jodi (Mike) Lodewegen, Garrett (Samantha) Rush, Luke Brettschneider, Logan Brettschneider, Emma Brettschneider, Maci Brettschneider and Kylie Brettschneider; and great-grandchildren, Harper Lodewegen, Wade Rush and a great-grandson (Lodewegen) due in March.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Nancy Rackers and a brother-in-law, Jim Rackers.
Friends will be received from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at St. Peter Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, February 15, 2024 at St. Peter Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki VG, officiating.
