Phyllis DuCharme-Seger

Phyllis DuCharme-Seger, 91, Mooresville, entered into Eternal Life July 31, 2025. Phyllis was born November 5, 1933, in Indianapolis, to the late William M. and Agnes (Sullivan) Russell. She married the late Laurier "Larry" DuCharme in 1953, and he passed away in 1982. She later married the late Richard Seger in 1993, who died in 2008.

Phyllis attended St. Mary's Academy and graduated from Emmerich Manual High School. She was employed as the librarian for 20 years at the Brooklyn Elementary School, a job from which students continued to recognize her for many years. A devout Catholic, Phyllis was a charter member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, where she also served through the Women's Club, as a Eucharistic Minister, and with RCIA. She was also a member of the Secular Order of Franciscans and the Red Hats Society.

Phyllis enjoyed crocheting, painting watercolors, and was an accomplished seamstress. In her earlier years, she gardened and canned for her family. She will be remembered for her strong work ethic, her organizational skills, and her wonderful homemade cooking, especially delicious cookies that were oftentimes ready when the kids got off the school bus. Phyllis' memory will forever be cherished by her loving family and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Larry, and Dick, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Woods, Dorothy Owens, and William Russell.

Survivors include her children, Yvonne (the late John) Tom, DiAnn (Richard) Dale, Gerald "Jerry" DuCharme, and Mark DuCharme; a grandson, Jason (Shannon) Tom; a great-granddaughter, Ava Tom. Additional family members include Dick's five children and eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2025, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1200 N. Indiana St., Mooresville. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 11:30 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 Noon. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
