The family of Phyllis June Griggs announces with heartfelt sadness her passing on October 12, 2024, in Longview, TX. She was born on June 1, 1948, in Clovis, NM, raised her children in Albuquerque, NM, and lived the later years of her life in White Oak, TX.
For those who knew Phyllis, you'll remember her as the feisty and spirited mother of three daughters-Brenda Vanover, Stacey Walker, and Jacque Griggs-who filled her days with laughter and love. Known for her honest and energetic spirit, she was the kind of person who always had time for a heartfelt chat or a funny story to lift your spirits.
Phyllis was an extraordinary woman who poured her heart into her family, leaving a legacy of love and kindness in her wake. She cherished spending Thanksgiving surrounded by her large and loving family, a time she adored fondly. Her love for cooking, gardening, and crafts was only eclipsed by her devotion to her family.
Phyllis was blessed with a large family, who were the light of her life. She is predeceased by her mother and father, Idris and Billie June Arnold. She is survived by her brother, Randal Arnold, three daughters, Brenda Ellis, Jacque Griggs, and Stacey (Lee) Walker, eight grandchildren, Christopher (Anna) Vanover, Jessica Vanover, Randal (Sarah) Griggs, Ashley (Steven) Griggs, Jasmine (Derick) Allen, Samantha Walker, Casee (Austin) Iske, William Walker, and ten great-grandchildren, Chase Vanover, Raul Vanover, Breanna Vanover, Max Vanover, Gabriella Garcia, Melanie Garcia, Marley Griggs, Darla Griggs, Wyatt Yates, Alexander Allen.
Join us in celebrating Phyllis' life on October 19, 2024, at 11:00 AM CST at the beautiful Pineway Farms in Gladewater, TX. Here, we will share our stories, laughter, and love in her memory.
