Phyllis A. Huffman, 71, of Escanaba, passed away at home on Monday, January 6, 2025.
Phyllis was born on February 6, 1953, daughter of Bernard and Viola (O'Conner) Paquin. She attended St. Ignace LaSalle High School and graduated in 1971.
In December 30, 1974, Phyllis married Carl Huffman.
She was a proud member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians and spent most of her career as a secretary for the Sault Ste. Marie Tribal Health Center.
Phyllis enjoyed crocheting and spending time with friends and family. She especially enjoyed cooking for her family and volunteering with the Special Olympics. The activity she loved most was doing anything and everything with her granddaughters.
Among survivors include her daughter, Nichole (Jason) Varoni of Bark River; grandchildren, Katelynn, Carley, and Hope Varoni; parents, Bernard and Voila Paquin; siblings, Tom (Teresa) Paquin, Brenda (Ron) Nelson, Kenny (Mary) Paquin, Gerry (Darrin) Brow, Cathy (Bill) Bauman, Kevin Paquin and Regina Rolstone, Mike (Janet) Paquin, and Christine Paquin; and a large family of loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her loving husband, Carl Huffman; son, BJ Huffman; and siblings, Daniel Paquin, Angela Paquin, and Denise Paquin.
In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held.
