Phyllis Marie Hutto, 73, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, in Aiken. A devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, she leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity.
Phyllis was born on October 5, 1951 at Fort Gordon Army Base. As an “Army Brat,” Phyllis traveled the world during her father’s service, which contributed to her unique perspective on life and connection with people from all walks of life.
Phyllis had a vibrant career as a server at Ryan's Steak House for 15 years, a hostess at Cracker Barrel, and later worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Known for her warm spirit, she will be remembered as both a server and a giver. She often spent her last penny to help someone in need, embodying a rich love for those around her and a heart that consistently prioritized others above herself.
She is survived by her cherished daughter, Typhany Michelle (Kelly) Nordeen of New Ellenton, SC; loving grandchildren, Skyler (Nicole) Micham, Loy (Hannah) Mitcham, and Devin (Jasmine) Mitcham; and her great-grandchildren, Raiden Mitcham, Ira Mitcham, Ezra Mitcham, Charlie Mitcham, and Donald Mitcham. Also mourning her loss is her brother, Steve (Charleene) Clark of Abbeville, SC.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Homer Marshall and Betty Jo Clark.
Her vibrant spirit and dedication to helping others will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 7, 2025 at from 11:00 AM until noon. The memorial service will follow at noon at Foreman Memorial Baptist Church.
