Phyllis Iaquinta Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home on Mar. 30, 2026.
Phyllis Jean Iaquinta, 85, of Fairmont, West Virginia, passed away peacefully March 27, 2026 surrounded by her loved ones.

Born in Holden, West Virginia, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Francisco and Socorro Hernandez Delapas of Baxter, West Virginia.

She is survived by her children, Toni Iaquinta and Samuel T. Iaquinta, Jr., son in law Nick Tipi, her cherished grandchildren, Sammy (Felicity) Matos, Angela (Matthew) Coffman, Conchetta Iaquinta, Tiffany Gonzales, and Kharmine Iaquinta; and her great-granddaughter, Ariana Gonzales. She is also survived by her sisters, Molly (Bob) Beafore and Evelina (Charles) Ball, along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel T. Iaquinta; her daughter, Rosemary Tipi; her sisters, Theresa Lee and Millie Delapas; and her brothers, Pete Delapas and Tony Delapas.

Phyllis was a faithful member of City Church in Fairmont. She generously gave her time volunteering at the Hospice Care Thrift Store in Bellview and found great joy in cooking for the residents at Conchetta's Health Home Care. She was truly a beacon of light to her family. She was someone who always had wisdom to share, a meal to offer, and love to give-especially when it came to dogs. Her presence will be profoundly missed and always remembered.

In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated.
