Samuel J. Iaquinta III, known to all as Sam, passed away at home on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the age of 89, following 15 years of various heart issues. Sam was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia, on August 22, 1936, to Samuel and Flora Iaquinta. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Becky; their two children, Susie (Ed) Steinmetz and Kelley (Rob) Baumgartner; and six cherished grandchildren: Nathan and Jake McCatty and Lexi, Gus, Luke, and Grace Baumgartner. Sam is also survived by his sisters Sandy Iaquinta and Debbie (Sam) Smith; his brother Richard (Barb) Iaquinta; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Debbie (Mike) Ferguson, Franchesca (Gene) Papa, Ali (Bryan) George, Samuel (Meg) Smith, Christopher Iaquinta, and Matthew (Lisa) Smith. Sam graduated from Fairmont State College and proudly served in the U.S. Army. His professional career spanned nearly 32 years with the "Bell" system-working with Ohio Bell, Ameritech, and AT&T. As District Manager of Advertising, Sam oversaw advertising operations across Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Ohio, and his entire career was in the world of yellow page advertising. Sam and Becky lived many years in Brecksville, Ohio, and Rochester, Michigan, before retiring to Punta Gorda, Florida, where they enjoyed 23 wonderful years. Summers were often spent in Vermilion, Ohio. Recently, they returned north to make their home in Westfield, Indiana. Beyond his career, Sam was deeply committed to his community. While living in Brecksville, he served on the local Planning Commission, was President of the Kiwanis Club, and chaired both the Memorial Day Parade and the Kiwanis Horse Show. An avid fisherman, Sam loved exploring northern waters as well as the saltwater of Florida. He also found joy in boating, golfing, and countless hours spent with friends and family. A true "people" person, Sam cherished time with relatives, neighbors, work associates, fitness center friends, and even complete strangers. He had a gift for connecting with others and will be warmly remembered for his kindness and generosity. Sam was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. A celebration gathering may be scheduled in the future. In lieu of flowers, feel free to donate to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Merciful HELP Center, 1045 West 146th Street, Suite A, Carmel, IN 46032
