Phyllis Juncker

Longtime Illinois resident, Phyllis Juncker, passed away on March 16, 2025 in Vienna, IL at the age of 82. She was born on June 21, 1942 in Point Township, Indiana to Charles and Evelyn Schneider.
She resided in Mt. Vernon with her four children where she was active as a homeroom mother for her oldest children and farmed with her former husband. Phyllis was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed sewing clothing for her family and making crafts. After moving to Bradenton, FL for four years where she drove school buses and helped as a special needs aid in the Manatee County School system, she then moved to Perks, IL and later to Dongola, IL where she has since lived. Phyllis worked in the school systems as a teacher's assistant and as a substitute teacher. She loved working with children and occasionally worked as a part-time foster carer. Phyllis also drove over the road for years as an owner-operator.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her father, Charles A. Scheider, her mother, Evelyn P. Schneider who farmed in both So. Indiana and So. Illinois. Also preceding her in death were siblings, Charles D. (Buck) Schneider, Phillip A. Schneider, Mary (Gerald) Felty, and Ruth Ann (Paul) Benthall with 2 surviving brothers, Dale (Anita) Schneider of Mt. Vernon, IN, and Ray (Monica) Schneider of Perks, IL.
Phyllis is also survived by her four children, daughter Tammy (Lacy) Mathis, West Richland, WA, son's Gary (Daisy), Dipo log City, Philippines, Jerry Juncker, Clarksville, TN, and Ethan (DeLinda) Juncker of Dongola, IL, also by Grandchildren, Jacqueline Juncker, Clay Juncker, Keil Juncker, Carli (Billy) Treat and Kennan Juncker and Great Grandchildren, Mylo, Lily, Ivy, and Walker.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial donations be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Children' s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
