Phyllis Kravitz Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Kravitz (née Robbins) March 15, 1932 – August 23, 2025 Phyllis Kravitz, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on March 15, 1932, Phyllis grew up with a deep appreciation for family, tradition, and community. Her warmth, wit, sense of fashion, and unwavering strength touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Whether she was hosting holiday gatherings, offering sage advice, or playing mahjong with her friends, Phyllis had a gift for making people feel seen and loved. Phyllis was a proud graduate of Cleveland Heights High School, where she first cultivated her love of learning. She went on to attend The Ohio State University and later John Carroll University, reflecting her lifelong commitment to education and personal growth. Throughout her life, Phyllis carried herself with grace and humility. She was known for her keen sense of style, her sharp intellect, and her fierce loyalty to those she held dear. As a lasting symbol of their shared values, Harry and Phyllis endowed a tree at Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland-a quiet, living tribute nestled among the historic grounds. The tree stands as a testament to their enduring presence and the roots they planted in the lives of those who knew them. Phyllis was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Harry Kravitz, who passed away on January 4, 2019. She is survived by her sister Marlene Rosen (Mark) of Boynton Beach; her sons Lee (Elizabeth) of New York, Randy (Jeannette) of Chicago, Ron (Sylvia) of San Francisco, and Roger (Cindy) of Cleveland; her grandchildren Scott (Laura), Rachael Robinson (Robby), Heather Mauter (Kyle), Zoe (Kyle), Ana, Caroline (Joel), Benjamin, Noah; her step-grandchildren Brandy Pence (Rob) and Rod Swartz (Kate); her six great grandchildren James, Nelly, McKenna, Camden, Caiden, and Matthew; and her four step great grandchildren Aaron, Mark, Pasha, and Olya. A celebration of life will be held in her honor, with details to be shared with close family and friends. Her memory will live on in the stories we tell, the values we uphold, and the love she gave so freely.
