Mrs. Phyllis Ann Hudspeth Lee, 70, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026, at her home in China Grove.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Mount Moriah Evangelical Lutheran Church in China Grove. The Rev. Joe Tallent will officiate. A private Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. Tuesday prior to the funeral service.
Mrs. Lee was born January 25, 1956 in Chester, SC. She was daughter of Vergie Crawford Hudspeth and the late Garland J. Hudspeth.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Lee is survived by her husband, Sam H. Lee.Mrs. Lee acquired both her Bachelor of Science and her Master of Business Administration from UNC Greensboro. She taught business classes in several high schools in the Rowan County Schools before retiring after 30 years' service. During that span she also taught as an adjunct business instructor for Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.
She was a devoted member of Mount Moriah Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was very active in the music program, playing the piano and organ and singing in the choir. She also served on occasion as church secretary, council member, and coordinator of the church calling tree.
Surviving family members also include a sister, Carolyn Weaver (Bill, deceased), a niece, Jennifer Huffman (Shawn), and two great-nieces, Lauren Adams (Sam) and Brittany Miller. Mrs. Lee was predeceased by a niece, Julie Miller.
Memorials may be sent to Mount Moriah Evangelical Lutheran Church, 750 Mount Moriah Church Road, China Grove, NC 28023, for the benefit of the Future Improvements Fund and the Music Program.
