Phyllis Marie Mead

Phyllis Marie Mead (née Siscoe) was born on October 8, 1937, in Denver, Colorado, the youngest of eight children to Earnest and Mary Siscoe. She passed away on September 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

A devoted mother, Phyllis raised six children from her first marriage to Franklin Boardman: Thomas Franklin, Marie Lynn, Keith Alan, Linda Sue, Terry Lew, and Gary Lee. Despite the challenges of being a single mother, she worked tirelessly to provide a loving and stable home. Her strength and perseverance were evident in everything she did, including her work as a Text Input Specialist at Mountain Bell, where she prepared advertisements for the Yellow Pages.

Phyllis's children fondly remember the simple joys she created-like stopping at A&W for root beer after church or playing games in the backyard, moments that became treasured family memories.

On November 22, 1986, Phyllis married the love of her life, John "Jack" Franklin Mead. Their marriage brought her deep joy and a growing circle of loved ones.

She is survived by her daughter Linda Sue (Mark) Wilson; sons Keith Boardman, Terry Boardman, and Gary (Mary) Boardman; stepdaughters Robin Kay Brown and Pennie Lynn Mace; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Phyllis will be remembered for her fierce devotion to family, her quiet resilience, and her warm, giving spirit.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Phyllis's memory to the Springer Senior Citizens Center or to a local animal charity of your choice-causes close to her heart.
