Phyllis Cornelia Nunoo-Williams was born in October 1950 in Fitzgerald, Georgia. She was the second child born to Louis D. Smith and Allie Mae Smith.
She accepted Christ and was baptized at Tabernacle Baptist church in Oklahoma City. Phyllis spent part of her early years in Georgia and later moved to Oklahoma City where she attended Douglas High School in Oklahoma City where she graduated in 1969.
She worked for Oklahoma State DHS as a child welfare specialist. She later worked for HOPE Community Services as a therapist. Upon leaving HOPE Community Services, she opened her counseling business as a psychotherapist in Midwest City.
She attended Central State University (now UCO) where she earned her BA degree. She then attended the University of Oklahoma where she earned her masters degree in social work.
Phyllis wrote articles for Black Chronicles. Phyllis was L.C.S.W. (license Clinical Social Worker) helping all that needed her.
Phyllis was married to Anthony Williams of Midwest City, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents Louise D and Ellie Mae Smith; sisters, Eleanor Smith Thomas, Allice C. Long and brother, John L. Smith.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Anthony of Midwest City; sister, Sherri Edwards of Midwest City; brother, Myron Smith and wife Jeanetta of Oklahoma City. Niece Sabah Edwards and nephews, Sean Smith, Justin Smith, Marcus Smith, Mathew Smith, Mylon Mist and a host of relatives and friends.
