Phyllis Rasband Parcell passed away peacefully at home on December 30, 2024, after a wonderful 100+ years of life. She was born on May 6,1924 in Heber City, Utah to Walter Jeffs and Elvira (Vera) Lindsay Rasband. She is the fourth child of seven children, having two brothers and four sisters. She had a wonderful childhood playing and working together with her family on their dairy farm.
Phyllis graduated from Wasatch High School and Seminary in 1942. She married Harris Parcell in the Salt Lake Temple on April 5, 1944. Together they raised four daughters and one son in Heber Valley. They were wonderful parents and loved their children dearly.
Phyllis loved living in Heber Valley where she lived for ninety-eight of her one hundred years of life (two years she lived away with Harris while he was serving in the U.S.Army during World War II.) During her time living in Heber, she never lived more than a one-mile radius of the home where she was raised.
Phyllis was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. She loved her Savior Jesus Christ and showed that love by serving others in Relief Society, Young Women, Primary and other organizations. She also served with Harris as an ordinance worker in the Provo and Mount Timpanogas Temples for 30+ years. Together they enjoyed serving a full-time mission in the Ohio Akron mission from 1985-87.
Phyllis worked at First Security Bank in Heber City for thirty-five years, where she served many members of the community.
The most important things in her life were her family and her testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. She leaves behind a remarkable legacy of unwavering faith, selfless service and love for others. She loved reading and studying the scriptures and going to the temple with her family every month. She always encouraged her family to keep the commandments.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her loving husband, Harris Parcell, her son, Walter Harris Parcell, her parents, and all of her siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Dixie Ann Giles (Paul), Karen Parcell, Joyce Havens (Gary), and Jill Duke (Chad), her daughter in law Carol Parcell, 22grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 12:00 Noon at the Heber 1st Ward Chapel, 325 East 500 North, Heber City. Friends may call Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm or Friday, January 3, from 10:00 – 11:30 am at the same chapel. Interment: Heber City Cemetery.
