Phyllis "Sissy" Gayle Payne, 63 of Louisville, passed away at Norton Audubon hospital on Monday, October 10, 2022, with her family by her side.
Sissy was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, and friend. She loved spending time with her family, especially the trips to the family beach condo in Florida. She was an avid University of Louisville fan, and relished horse racing, derby time in the spring, and the time she spent with her uncle who was a trainer at the track. She was a big supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the hospital in her name.
Sissy was preceded in death by her mother Genene "Nanny" Payne.
She is survived by her father, Gerald "Paw" Payne and his wife Diane; her sister Deana Pickett; her brother-in-law, Richard Burke; her niece Ashlie Mills and her husband Brad; her great nephews Landon Ray and Hudson Alexander; along with other nieces, family, and friends she loved dearly.
