Born at home in Waterville, on November 24, 1934, she was the only child of the late Harold and Ardelle (Taylor) Leach.

On May 2, 1954, Phyllis and Larry E. Perry were married in the Waterville Union Church. He predeceased her on January 1, 2012.

Phyllis attended the Waterville Elementary School and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1952. She was first employed at the Sterling Trust Company in Johnson and later at Johnson State College. Phyllis and Larry spent most of their life in Johnson, Vermont.

Phyllis was a member of the United Church of Johnson and served as a Johnson Town Auditor for several years. She and Larry had many fond memories of the bowling leagues they played on for many years, as well as dancing with family and friends. Later in life she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing bingo, puzzles and taking care of her house plants and watching her birdfeeders.

Her most memorable time in life was raising her children and being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She and Larry made many memories with the kids and grandchildren each summer at their camp in Glover.

Phyllis is survived by her son; Steven E. Perry (Karen) of Lyndonville, her daughter; Mary Jean Smith (Stephen) of Johnson, as well as 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her beloved husband; Larry, her granddaughter; Chrissy Perry in 2003, and her son; Mark Perry in 2014, as well as her sister-in-law; Beverly Perry Rollins and husband Leslie.

To honor their wishes, a private graveside service for both Phyllis and Larry will be held in the summer of 2026, in Mt. View Cemetery in Waterville, with their family and close friends.

For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Lamoille Area Cancer Network, P.O. Box 38, Lake Elmore VT, 05657.
