Phyllis Preston

Phyllis Louise Preston, of Farwell, MI, formerly of Leslie and Lansing, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2026, at the age of 89. Born June 26, 1936, in Jackson, MI, she was the daughter of Maurice and Darline (Wilbur) Baldwin. Phyllis was raised in Leslie and graduated with the Class of 1954. She worked briefly at Michigan State University before joining the State of Michigan's Treasury Department, where she served until her retirement in 1992.

A proud member of the Michigan Bicentennial Wagon Club, Phyllis loved parades, Fourth of July celebrations, and Charlotte's Frontier Days. She participated in the 1976 Bicentennial wagon trip to the Mackinac Bridge, a three-week journey she cherished. Above all, she adored her grandchildren and delighted in sharing her love of wagon training and camping with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 46 years, Jack Preston; her children, David Redman, Mike Preston, and Harold Preston; and daughter-in-law, Robin Preston.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Jerry (Beth) Preston, Sue Preston, Steve Preston, Dee (John) Personius, Sherrie (David) Gonzales, and Jim (Dalynne) Preston; daughter-in-law, Wendy Preston; 22 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Ruth Hellfish and many extended family members.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Onondaga Cemetery, with a luncheon immediately after at the First Baptist Church of Leslie.
