Phyllis Smith, age 71, of East Bernstadt, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.

She leaves behind three children, Samantha McMillian of London, KY, Michael Smith of East Bernstadt, KY, Steven Smith & wife Angie of East Bernstadt, KY; six grandchildren, William McMillian & wife Ariel, Dylan Smith, Eric Smith, Abby Smith, Lily Smith, Waylon Smith; two great grandchildren, Dexter Smith, Haylie McMillian; her daughter-in-law, Marcie Smith; plus a host of other family and friends to cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William H. Philpot and Nannie Swanner Philpot; two sons, Clarence Smith Jr., Shane Smith; and by seven siblings, Edmond Philpot, Virgil Philpot, Bert Philpot, Lois Philpot, Loretta Stewart, Ada Shell and Judy Buckles.

Phyllis was a devoted mother who poured her heart into creating a warm and welcoming home where everyone felt cared for. She faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher for many years, sharing her love of the Lord and her gentle spirit with countless children who adored her.

Phyllis had a natural gift for loving people. She cherished time spent with her family and friends, and her church community held a special place in her heart. Known for her wonderful personality and joyful spirit, she loved to laugh, visit, and simply enjoy life with those around her.

She especially loved children and had a way of making each one feel seen and treasured. Whether teaching, playing, or simply offering a listening ear, Phyllis blessed others with her kindness.

Her days were filled with simple joys-gathering with loved ones, serving her church, and embracing every opportunity to play, laugh, and make memories. Her warmth, love, and gentle presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service for Phyllis Smith will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Harold Harris and Jeremy Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Warren Grove Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Thursday beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the service hour, also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
