A celebration of life for Phyllis Stanley, age 88 of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Murray – Orwosky Funeral Home with Rev. Ed. Lantz officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at 10:30A.M. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Altoona Cemetery in Altoona, KS. Mrs. Stanley passed away on October 7, 2025 at her residence.
Phyllis was born on January 17, 1937 in Neodesha, KS to George L. and Frances Margaret (Wing) Staley. She married Richard “Dick” Stanley on June 23, 1957 in Altoona, KS. Phyllis worked as a real estate agent and in banking most of her career. She retired from Alliance Bank. Phyllis was member of the First United Methodist Church in Sulphur Springs. She was also a part of the Northeast Texas Choral Society, TOPS, and held various offices/positions with the United Methodist Women.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; daughter, Christy Dziuk, and husband, Pat; son Michael Stanley; grandchildren, Caleb Dziuk and wife, Nikki, and Seth Dziuk; great grandchild, Daniel Dziuk.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lorene Staley, Doris Ann Latta, and Beth Banks; brother, Merton Staley and infant son, Douglas Eugene Stanley.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Altoona Cemetery Association or a charity of your choice.
