Phyllis Darlene (Jackson) Walker was born in San Mateo, CA to parents Glenn and Louise Jackson on October 3rd, 1954. As a small child with her parents and four older siblings, she lived in Vidal Junction, CA until the family moved to Orange, CA when she then became a big sister to two more siblings. Phyllis was a quiet, studious and compassionate person with a wonderful sense of humor. She loved animals and birds, singing, reading and art. As she got older, she also very much enjoyed gardening and general yard work. Phyllis graduated from Orange High School where she enjoyed chorus and drama class, acting in several school plays. She had a stepson, Ashton Walker, whom she loved deeply. Phyllis worked as a restaurant hostess, in retail and finally as a real estate agent. At the time of her passing, Phyllis had been a saved Christian for over 40 years and her faith in Jesus Christ was evident in everything she did. She was always eager to share the gospel and her own personal testimony to anyone who might listen, in hopes of leading them to Christ and salvation, and her knowledge of God's word was evident. Even during her illness, her belief in eternity never wavered and she held fast to God's grace and the knowledge that when it was her time, she would enter the gates of Heaven. Often referencing the book of Job, during the afflictions and physical pain she endured, she rarely complained. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Walker; her parents Glenn and Louise Jackson; two brothers, David and Glenn Jackson; her sister-in-law Andrea (Kenneth) Jackson and two brothers-in-law, Charles (Barbara) Curiale and Allen (Dixie) Weaver. She is survived by her stepson, Ashton Walker; brothers Kenneth Jackson and Timothy Jackson, sisters Barbara Curiale; Laurel (Arthur) Vance and Dixie (Timothy) Baker, 16 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear friend who was there for her always in times of need, Carolyn Truskowski, and Ashley Dravenstatt who helped to care for her. Phyllis will be greatly missed, but Heaven has gained a faithful and gentle soul.
