Pierre F. Faubert M.D., 78, of Westfield, NJ, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday April 16, 2025. Dr. Faubert was a physician, specializing in Nephrology. Born in Haiti, he was part of a private practice in Brooklyn, NY, where he served patients at Brookdale University Hospital.
After graduating from secondary school, Pierre headed to the province of Quebec, CN to attend the University of Sherbrooke for pre-med and med studies. In 1973, he began an internship at the Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He set about dedicating his career to the medical center, his practice and the community of East New York for years until his retirement. In addition to caring for his patients, he was passionate about the education of generations of interns, residents and fellows at the medical center. Dr. Faubert published numerous articles in various medical journals in addition to co-authoring a book, “Renal Disease in the Elderly” 1998, published by Marcel Dekker, New York.
In 1977 Pierre and his wife Jessy Sajous Faubert fell in love literally at first sight with the town of Westfield and moved there. He would go on to spend long hours jogging throughout the streets of the town at the crack of dawn. He loved to travel and was an aficionado of jazz and Afro-Cuban rhythms as well as classical music, Portuguese “Morna” and Haitian “Compas”. He was also a consummate handyman. He is survived by his loving wife Jessy Sajous Faubert, his stepmother Mona Roy Faubert; his brothers Eduardo Faubert; André Faubert (wife Madeline); his sisters Françoise Faubert Flores; Arielle Faubert Adrien (husband Newk); and Karine (Cookie)Faubert (husband Rafael Villard) and numerous adoring nephews and nieces of “uncle Pierre” or “Parrain.”
Dr. Faubert's Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10AM Thursday April 24, 2025, at St. Helen Catholic Church, 1600 Rahway Avenue (at Lamberts Mill Road), Westfield, NJ. Pall Bearers are Luidgi F., Jonathan S., David S., Eduardo’s F., and Andre F.
