Pio Rodriguez of Waterford, MI, born on June 4, 1938, son of Andres Rodriguez and Petronila Calingasan, and one of eight siblings, passed peacefully surrounded by his wife Carmelita and his 3 children: Leslie (Ken) Troy, Russ (Kara) Rodriguez, Bernadette (Johnny) Keros.
Pio, known to many as Pete, originally from Tuy, Batangas Philippines, married his loving wife in the Philippines on Dec 12, 1970 and remained married for 53 years.
Pio graduated from National University of Manila in the Philipines with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and later achieved his certificate from the Professional Board of Engineering. Pio moved to Michigan where he worked and retired from Grand Trunk Railroad Company before he pursued his dream of owning his own business (PIRUSS Enterprises Construction and Hardware) located in his hometown of Tuy.
Pio's focus was his family, happiness, and achieving his goals. For those who knew him, they saw the drive and passion he had to never look back. Pio was adamant to accomplish anything his mind was set on, to enjoy life when you have the energy, and to never save anything for "tomorrow" if you can accomplish it "today".
Pio is survived by his wife Carmelita, 3 children and 8 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and flowers on Friday, July 21, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Riverside Chapel, Simpson-Modetz Funeral Home, 5630 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford, with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. St. Perpetua Catholic Church, 134 Airport Rd, Waterford, 48327.
