Piotr Wojciechowski, age 60, passed away unexpectedly on March 13, 2025. Born in Swiebodzin, Poland, to the late Jerzy and the late Dorota Wojciechowski, he was the beloved father of Lukasz (Kya Marienfeld), loving brother of Alina Rojbro Wojciechowska, and cherished uncle of Martin Rojbro. Piotr remained a treasured presence within the Soszynski family, where Lukasz's cousins, in particular, always regarded him as their boisterous, devoted uncle.
Piotr was a larger-than-life presence who never missed an opportunity to laugh-or to make others laugh. A natural storyteller with a gregarious spirit, he brought joy and lightheartedness wherever he went. His curiosity and love for adventure took him across the country and around the globe, and he never tired of exploring new places. Whether hiking through national parks or simply enjoying an evening under the stars, Piotr was most at peace when he was surrounded by nature. On a solo trip to Zion National Park, he nearly didn't finish hiking the Angel's Landing trail before sundown-despite allowing himself twice the typically recommended time-because he couldn't resist striking up a conversation with everyone he passed along the way.
More than anything, he cherished his family. Piotr was overjoyed at the news that he would soon become a grandfather, eagerly looking forward to welcoming his first grandchild this coming summer. Although he did not get the chance to meet his grandchild, his endless enthusiasm and laughter will live on through the stories his loved ones will share for years to come.
His warmth, humor, and adventurous spirit touched countless lives, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation Tuesday, March 18, 2025 from 4 - 8 p.m. at Muzyka & Son Funeral Home, 5776 W. Lawrence Ave., Chicago, IL 60630.
