Mary Louise "Polly" McCullough, 61, of Christiana, entered into rest with her Lord, Jesus Christ on the morning of Friday, May 9, 2025, at home with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Philip Wasson Neff, Jr. and Dorothy P. (Ruth) Neff. She was the loving wife of Robert M. McCullough, Jr. for 37 years.
Polly was an avid reader who loved history, arts, crafts, and music. She enjoyed visiting historic sites on the East Coast and vacationing in Ocean City, New Jersey, and parts of Virginia and Florida. She was an active member of Faith Church in Quarryville, where she faithfully served as the church librarian and enjoyed women's Bible studies. She was also very active in Faith Church's Life Group Ministry. Polly was also an avid Philadelphia sports fan.
Polly was a gifted and enthusiastic teacher in the Octorara Area School District, where she began teaching in 1988, retiring in 2021. After retirement, she enjoyed working as a hostess at the Daily Grind Coffee Shop in Quarryville. She recently served on the Lancaster County Youth Aid Panel as a mentor to young adults. Polly had an infectious smile that could put anyone at ease. She was a genuine soul with a rapier wit who loved getting to know people.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Robert W. McCullough, husband of Nichole and Dorothy V. McCullough; and siblings, Virginia Mosher, Philip Neff, III, and Timothy E. Neff. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Conlan R. McCullough.
A Memorial Service honoring Polly's life will take place at Faith Church, 611 Robert Fulton Hwy., Quarryville, PA on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30-11:00 a.m. Kindly omit flowers.
