Primitivo Rey Tangalin

Primitivo "Rey" Tangalin, age 70, of Houston, Texas died Wednesday afternoon, June 7th, at St Luke's Hospital in Sugarland TX surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on November 27th, 1946 in Labit, Urdaneta, Pangasinan, Philippines to Teofilo and Rosalia Ortiz Tangalin. He was the 3rd of 9 children.
Rey graduated from Urdaneta Community High School in 1962. Later he attended and graduated from University of Pangasinan in Dagupan City, Philippines in 1968. He was an Honors Graduate in Civil Engineering and was a member of Alpha Gamma Phi Fraternity.
After graduation, Rey worked for the National Irrigation Administration in Urdaneta until he immigrated to the United States in 1974.
Rey worked as a Civil Engineer for over 40 years in variety of industries but mostly the Oil and Gas Industry. On his spare time, he enjoyed playing the piano and singing. His main passions were playing tennis, gardening, and visiting with his family especially in the Philippines.
He is survived by his loving partner of over 10 years, Paz Borromeo; along with his three children: Christine and Vergel (Jojo) Vergara of Katy, Texas, Christopher and Karla Tangalin of Cypress, Texas, and Lorene and Chris Sanders of Houston, Texas.
Rey is also survived by his 7 grandchildren: Julia Rose, Madalyn Kei, and Emma Lorie Vergara of Katy Texas, Bilal, Iman, and Ilyas Shoukry of Houston, Texas and Kealani Cordova Tangalin of Cypress, Texas.
And many other loving brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews throughout the United States and Philippines.
Visitation Services for Rey Tangalin will be held on Wednesday, June 14th from 5-9 p.m. @ Earthman SW Funeral Home 12555 S Kirkwood Stafford, TX 77477. Rosary will begin @ 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday June 15th @ 10:30 a.m. @ St Angela Merici Catholic Church 6210 Sienna Pkwy Missouri City, TX 77459.
