RaeLynn Smith, 63, passed away surrounded by her family at her home on December 18, 2025. A visitation will take place from 1p.m.-6p.m. on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at the West Funeral Home Chapel. A Rosary will be held following the visitation 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025, at San Jose Catholic Church, followed by burial at Carlsbad Cemetery (New Section)

RaeLynn Smith was born on August 24, 1962, in Los Angeles, California to Olivia "Libby" Fierro. She was a devoted roman catholic and member of San Jose Parish. On August 22, 1985 she married the love of her life Brian Smith, in Carlsbad, Mexico. RaeLynn was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, who cherished time spent with her family especially taking care of her children, grandchildren, as well as her beloved dogs Sophie and Bella. She was a Dallas Cowboys fan. Raelynn was a strong-willed, generous soul who will be greatly missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her mother Olivia Fierro, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

RaeLynn is survived by her husband of 40 years Brian Smith, sons Earl Phelps and wife Julie, Carl Smith and wife Kathryn, Patrick Smith and wife Moniquie, daughters Carolyn Newman and husband Leon, Hannah Groves and partner Corey Moreno, Jennah Groves and husband James Welch, sister Mary Ann Schaefer, grandchildren Taryn Newman, Christopher Smith, Benjamin Smith, and Alexander Smith, as well as many aunts and uncles, cousins that she loved dearly.

Pallbearers will be Earl, Carolyn, Carl, Patrick, Hannah and Jennah.

The family would like to thank Dr. Masoud Khorsand M.D. and staff of Kymera Independent Physicians, Dr. Murugan Athigaman M.D. and staff, and the Faith, Hope and Love Foundation.
