Rafael Ortola Obituary
He was born in Pego Alicante, Spain and was son to the late Rafael and Carmen (Siscar) Ortola. He came to the United States in 1960 to make a better life for his family. He was a retiree of Emhart Corp/Black & Decker after 24 years of service. He will be remembered as the Grand Master in the Easter Parades of his hometown of Pego, Spain.
In addition to his loving wife, Patrocinio, he is also survived and will be missed by his two sons: Henry J. Ortola and his wife Therese of Berlin and Ralph Ortola of New Britain, a sister Rosita Alcina of Florida, granddaughter, Danielle Messier and her husband Michael of Ellington, a sister in law; Nidita Ortola of Spain and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a brother, Fernando Ortola and brother in law; Salvatore Alcina.
A time of visitation will begin Thursday, April 10, 2014 from 9-10:30am at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain followed by the funeral liturgy at 11:00am in St. Ann Church. Burial will be held in Spain at a future date.
