Rajnikant Chandulal Shah, 80, died surrounded by the love of his family on September 29, 2024.
Born in Mumbai, India, as one of thirteen children, he focused on education and family. In 1967, he came to the United States where he received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. He married his beloved wife, Priya Shah, in India in 1973. They settled in New Jersey together, where he continued his education by earning his Master's in Chemical Engineering from NJIT.
Rajni began his career with the State of New Jersey, Department of Transportation in 1985, where he has spent nearly forty years as a chemical engineer.
Rajni enjoyed following baseball and cricket, gardening at his Lawrenceville home, and watching the news. He was a devout Jain and attended temple regularly with his wife. He enjoyed reading and spending quality time with his family. Rajni loved his four granddaughters, and it brought a new light to his life to play with them and watch them grow.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Priya Shah, his loving children Suketu Shah and wife Tejal Mehta, Shital Shah and husband Anuj Patel, and Poonam Fredeman and husband Daniel, and his adored granddaughters, Masum, Mira, Sonia, and Maya.
