Raju Melakayil was born on March 24, 1963, in Thottabhagom, Kerala, India. He entered paradise on June 21, 2024. He was born to M.P. Zachariah & Saramma Zachariah. Raju was preceded in death by his parents, brother Joy Melakayil, sister-in-law Gressamma, brother-in-law Glenn Issac, nephew Joey Melakayil, and great niece Poppy Melakayil.
Raju is survived by his wife, Anila Melakayil: sons, Ajay Melakayil and Ajith Melakayil; siblings, George Melakayil & Family, Joy Melakayil's children, Leelamma Issac & Family, Jose Melakayil & Family, Mammen Melakayil & Family, Annamma Johnson & Family, Babu Melakayil & Family, Tom Melakayil & Family, and Jolly Poulo & Family. He is also survived by his father-in law Ninan George, mother-in-law Amminikutty Ninan, sister-in-law Aswathy Santhosh & family, Ashok Ninan & family, and Ajitha Sojan & family.
Raju came to Oklahoma City on November 26, 1987. He worked at Marriot and Sheraton for several years; and, for the past three years at MD Building Products as a Distribution Center Auditor. He was a devoted Catholic, husband, father, and uncle. He enjoyed spending time with his siblings, watching nature documentaries, driving, gardening, and cracking jokes. Still, he mostly loved sharing time with his wife, kids, and Goku (the family cat).

The visitation for Raju will be held from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Buchanan Funeral Service, 8712 N Council Rd. Oklahoma City, OK 73132. A Prayer Service is scheduled for 9:00 AM on Thursday, June 27, 2024, also at Buchanan Funeral Service, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM the same day at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, 7336 W Britton Rd. Oklahoma City, OK 73132. Interment will follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
