Ralph Curtis Moore Sr, of Delmar, MD passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022, at his daughter s home in Whaleyville, MD. Ralph was born on October 23,1934 in Martinsville, VA. He was the son of the late John Leslie Moore and Mary Etta Moore.
Ralph is a graduate from Axton High School in Virginia. He was the first member of his family to receive a college degree, receiving his bachelor s degree in Animal Husbandry from Virginia Tech. Ralph served in the Army before he was released from active service to the National Guard of Virginia to complete his military obligation. He worked 35 years for Perdue Farms in various capacities including service supervisor, manager of the Salisbury soybean plant and feed mill, production manager of the Salisbury processing Plant and ending his career as an Environmental Engineer. Ralph enjoyed gardening, bird watching and dabbling with his sawmill. His true passion was his tree nursey business which he loved sharing his knowledge of with others.
Ralph is survived by his daughters, Phyllis(Beatle) Burton and her husband Daniel of Whaleyville, his son Ralph Curtis Moore, Jr. and his wife Jane of Salisbury and his daughter Teresa Moore and her fianc Chris Pacquing of Parsonsburg; three granddaughters, Elizabeth Burton and her boyfriend Bobby, Samantha West and her husband Scott and Jordan Moore; a grandson Alex Moore and his fianc Savannah; three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Simerson, Alan West and Sophia West; a brother William(Billy) Moore; a sister Betty (Opie) Jones; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ralph is preceded in death by his wife Mary Alice, his two brothers, James Moore and Johnny Moore and a sister, Agnes Jones.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 11:00 am at Holloway Funeral Home, located in Salisbury, MD. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Oren Perdue will officiate. Interment will follow at Parsons Cemetery in Salisbury, MD.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Ralph s honor to Linus and Friends Rescue-a nonprofit animal rescue. Donations may be made to www.linusandfriends.org or by mailing donation to Linus and Friends, 42 Broadway 12th Floor, New York, New York 10004.
