Ralph Gene Rickman II, born in Hollywood, CA on January 12, 1972, Ralph Gene Rickman II has left a lasting impression on all who knew him as a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished friend. It is with deep sorrow that we announce his passing on January 13, 2024, at the age of 52, in
Moore, OK. Gene had an adventurous spirit and an insatiable love for good food. It seemed as though he had a never-ending list of the best restaurants in Oklahoma at his fingertips, ready to recommend to friends and family. He was also passionate about firearms and enjoyed spending time honing his skills at the shooting range. Throughout his illustrious career, Gene lent his talents to numerous news stations across the country. From Arizona to Arkansas, Tulsa to Texas, and finally landing in Oklahoma City, he made significant contributions to the field of journalism. For an admirable 14 years, Gene dedicated himself to the team at Oklahoma's News 4, where he made a lasting impact on both his colleagues and the community he served. Gene's most treasured role in life, however, was that of a devoted Christian and husband. Gene was a Christian man who held his faith very dear, always living with Christ in his heart. On October 21, 1995, in
Rockford, Illinois, he joined in matrimony with his beloved wife Angela Rickman. Their unwavering commitment and love for one another stood as a shining example for those around them. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared countless precious memories. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Angela and their son, William Mark Rickman. Gene's legacy will also live on through his nieces and nephews, Cassandra Perez and her husband Ivan, Harrison Leonard, Savannah Leonard, and Jackson Leonard. He was also adored by his grandmother Patricia Lillian Colson, as well as his uncle Larry Colson and wife Rosemary, along with many other dear relatives and friends. Gene is now reunited in eternity with his father, Ralph Gene Rickman, his mother Joan Lillian Rickman, and his sister Candace Leonard. While the pain of his loss is immeasurable, let us take solace in the cherished memories we shared with Ralph. A celebration of Gene's remarkable life will be held in a Memorial Service on January 20, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the First Southern Baptist Church. We kindly request those attending to dress in Gene's honor by wearing blue or their best gear representing the OU, Dallas Cowboys, OKC Thunder, or Texas Rangers. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to First Southern Baptist Church, a cause dear to Gene's heart at www.firstsouthern.tv/contact. Ralph Gene Rickman II will forever be remembered for his infectious laughter, kind heart, and unwavering loyalty. May our dear friend, husband, and father rest in eternal peace, knowing he made a profound impact on all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.
