Ralph Williams Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home - East Louisville on Jan. 14, 2025.
Ralph W. Williams, 68, of Buckner, Kentucky, passed away on January 12, 2025. He was born on April 13, 1956 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Roy and Helen Williams and was one of six children.
Ralph graduated from Atherton High School and furthered his education at Indiana Tech. He worked on the line at Ford for 30 years, retiring in 2007. Ralph selflessly served our country in the United States Army. He was stationed in Panama and was a radio operator. He was so proud of his service and loved sharing "war stories" with anyone who would listen. He was a member of the American Legion in Crestwood.
In his spare time, he was a "recliner detective", enjoying endless episodes of NCIS. He was an avid U of L fan, loved classic John Wayne movies, and tinkering in the garage. He was the go-to guy if you needed something fixed, specializing in appliances. At one time, he even ran an appliance business with his brother. Ralph had a great sense of humor and loved telling "Dad jokes". He liked grilling out and made sure everyone's steaks were always very well done, just like they liked them. Ralph mostly kept to himself and was known as the "invisible glue" of the family. It always seemed as though he had never met a stranger.
In addition to his parents, Ralph is preceded by his siblings: Roy Williams and Linda Knickerbocker, and his brothers-in-law: Mike Woods and Gary Knickerbocker. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 31 years, Vickie Williams; his children: Christopher Williams (Kari), Heather Evans, Amberly Nunn (Jeff), and Jennifer Fullick (Paul); grandchildren: Christiana Coleman (Brent), Trey Evans, Trenton Evans, Clayton Williams, Morgan Williams, Christopher Williams, Alexander Nunn, and Aiden Nunn; siblings: Robert Williams (JoAnne), Ray Williams (Stella), and Connie Woods, as well as other family members and friends who will all miss him.
Visitation will be from 2:00pm – 8:00pm, Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Ratterman Brothers, East Louisville (12900 Shelbyville Road, Louisville, KY 40243) with additional visiting 12:00pm – 1:00pm, Friday, January 17, 2025 and funeral service to follow at 1:00pm.
