Ralph Henry Woltering

Ralph Henry Woltering, age 96, of Kennesaw, Georgia died peacefully in his sleep October 6, 2022. Ralph was born on September 21, 1926 in the small farming community of Breese, Illinois. He was the oldest of nine children born to Frank and Margaret Woltering. In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Olga (Warren) Woltering; sisters, Irene Eversgerd and Rose Lake, and his brother, Robert "Bob" Woltering. He is survived by his children and their spouses: Mike and Margie Woltering of Waleska, GA, Gary and Jodie Woltering of Suffolk, VA, Debbie and Bruce Holcombe of Ballground, GA, and Tim and Sandy Woltering of Woodstock, GA; his siblings, Rich Woltering of St. Charles, MO, Marcella Alberternst of St Rose, IL, Irma Hartlieb of Highland, IL, Matt Woltering of Jamestown, IL and Sally Wojtowicz of Breese, IL; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Ralph was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1947 to 1969. He was later employed by Lockheed and by the Cobb County School System. He was an active member of Transfiguration Catholic Church in Marietta, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Olga was the love of his life, and they were married for 65 years prior to her death. Ralph enjoyed cracking jokes and playing card games with his friends at Canterfield of Kennesaw. He loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, 2:00PM at Transfiguration Catholic Church in Marietta, Georgia. A private graveside service at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in his name.
