JONESBORO - Ralston "Happa" C. Chinander, 63, of Jonesboro, went to rest in the arms of Jesus on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025.
Born Dec. 26, 1961, in St. Croix Falls, WI, Happa lived a life defined by integrity, heart, strength, humor, and kindness. Yet no words will ever fully capture the remarkable man he was.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jana Chinander, of the home; his daughters, Tabatha (Ed) Edwards and Shawna (Nick) Ditto, both of Jonesboro; and his beloved grandchildren, Hayden Reynolds, Bennett Ditto, Emma Edwards, and Andrew Edwards, all of Jonesboro. He is also survived by his brothers, Ronnie Chinander and Royal (Kathy) Chinander, both of Minnesota; as well as countless friends he considered family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Viola Chinander; his sister, Robin Chinander; and his brothers, Rolvin Chinander and Royce Chinander.
Known as a friend to all and "Happa" to many, he loved his family fiercely, working tirelessly to provide and care for them. He also held a special place in his heart for animals, especially his faithful companion, Sadie. To his family, he was the very definition of what a husband and father should be, their greatest blessing and most cherished protector.
Happa was always willing to lend a helping hand, even to those others may have overlooked or turned away. He dedicated himself to his lawn care business, where clients became much more than customers, they became friends and family. Happa deeply valued these relationships and remained grateful for their support over the years.
Happa will be missed dearly here on earth, but his family takes comfort knowing he is whole in Heaven, remembered forever as the larger-than-life man he was.
His family invites all who knew and loved him to celebrate his life on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025, from 2-4 p.m. at the EIk's Lodge, 2113, W. Washington Ave., Jonesboro, AR 72401.

I knew him as a neighbor. After a storm several trees were down in my yard. My family and I came home from church and there in my front yard was Ralston and his family cleaning up the debris. One time shortly after we moved there we went on vacation. We couldn't remember if we had turned off the coffee pot. We were 200 miles away. I called him and he took care of it. He was a great neighbor.
