Daniel J Chinander

Daniel J. Chinander, 86, of East Liverpool passed away the afternoon of December 27th, 2022.
Daniel was born on July 9, 1936 in Dearborn, Michigan to the late Dwight and Elsie (Thompson) Chinander. Daniel grew up in Dearborn and attended Dearborn High School, graduating in 1954. After graduation, Dan married his high school sweetheart, Jean. The two spent just over 66 years together. He worked as a training manager at the Detroit Terminal Railroad (Conrail) in Michigan for nearly 40 years until his retirement.
Daniel and Jean moved to East Liverpool in the early 90's, where Dan would become active in the community. He was a part of the East Liverpool Masonic Lodge #681, the East Liverpool Shriners Royal Order of Jesters, the East Liverpool Oriental Band, the East Liverpool Scottish Rite, and the Scottish Rite in the Valley of Steubenville. He was also an active member of Long's Run Presbyterian Church where he acted as an Elder, and also served on the cemetery board as a trustee.
In addition to his parents, Daniel is preceded in death by his sister, Janis Edmonson.
Daniel is survived by his wife Jean (Beal) Chinander at home, his son, Gregory Chinander of Seattle, WA, his daughter Denise (Jeffrey) Mott of Keedysville, MD, his brother Thomas (Rita) Chinander of Nashville, TN, and his grandchildren Justin (Erin) Flagg, Nicole (Yukie) Flagg, and Kelsey (Josh) deBrow, and Sarah Mott, as well as great grandchildren Cameron Flagg, Kenleigh Evans, and Londyn Baker, and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at CARE Funeral & Cremation Specialists Martin Chapel. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30 on Monday the 2 at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023 at 11:00 am at Long's Run Church with Tom Enochs as speaker.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner Transportation fund – Al-Koran in care of the funeral home.
