Ramiro Ortiz Obituary
Ramiro Barrera Ortiz, of Holden, Louisiana, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the age of 64. He was born on May 17, 1961, in Michoacan de Ocampo, Mexico, the son of the late Agustin Barrera and Salud Ortiz.
Ramiro was a wonderful and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He found joy in the little things, whether it was listening to music, dancing, or grilling for family and friends. Ramiro enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, raising roosters and chickens, and spending time with his dog. His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Ramiro is survived by his wife, Sara Barrera; children, Martin (Heather), Martha (Juan Carlos), Emma (Victor), Elizabeth (Hector), Sara Brenda (Juan Miguel), and Dana (Arnoldo); siblings, Eliseo, Delfino, Alicia, and Pablo; 19 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ramiro was preceded in death by his brother, Pedro Barrera.
Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service begins at 11:00 am.
