Rita Bodenheimer Kropog

Rita, age 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2026. She was a native of New Orleans, and a long-time resident of Holden, LA. Rita was a hard working office administrator and bookkeeper for many years, making life-long friends everywhere she went. After Rita retired, you could often find her at Tangi Lanes, where she was the bowling league secretary. Rita also enjoyed visiting casinos with her four (4) sisters. She had a smile that lit up a room. Rita was a loving wife, mother, sister, granny, aunt, and friend who is already dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rita is survived by her daughters, Pamela Vitter, and Ann Costanza (Rusty); son, Scott Kropog (Robin); grandchildren, Colin Finnegan, Jeremy Finnegan, Meredith Finnegan, Christopher Costanza, and Kyle Costanza; great-grandchildren, Isabella Finnegan, and Sofia Finnegan; sisters, Mary Marino, Gloria Martin, Carolyn Smith, and Dianne Beaver; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Rita is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ernest Paul Kropog;

son-in-law, Charlie M. Vitter; parents, Harold and Adele Bodenheimer; brothers, Harold Bodenheimer, Elwood Bodenheimer, Ralph Bodenheimer, Raymond Bodenheimer, and Lloyd Bodenheimer.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation from the Chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 12012 Hwy 190 West Hammond, LA. on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will begin promptly at 2:00 p.m. at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Albany, with interment to follow in church cemetery.
