Ramona Salas Chacon

Ramona Salas Chacon Saginaw, Michigan
Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, great-great-great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, Ramona Salas Chacon, returned to the loving embrace of Jesus in the early morning hours on January 3, 2026 in her residence surrounded by the loving presence of her family at the age of 96. The daughter of the late Albino and Lenore (Villanueva) Salas was born on August 30, 1929 in Dilley, Texas. She was married to Felisiano Chacon Sr., on April 18, 1945. They were able to spend 62 wonderful years of marriage and family before his passing on May 24, 2007. Ramona was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. In her free time, Ramona enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, but her greatest joy of all was spending time with her family.
Surviving to cherish her memory are nine children, Julia (Richard) Gomez, Nora (Leonard) DelaCruz, Alice (Jesse) Hernandez, Stella (Antonio) Martinez, Janie (Rich) Sanchez, Mary Cortez, Felisiano (Rebecca) Chacon Jr., Jesse Chacon, John (Roseanna) Chacon; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Ramona is reunited with her parents, Albino and Lenore Salas; her husband, Felisiano Chacon Sr.; and three sons, Jose, Reymundo and Manuel Chacon.

A Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026 at St. Francis of Assisi Parish - St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3680 S. Washington Rd., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Alberto Vargas will officiate with burial to follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), on Thursday, January 8, 2026 where the family will be present from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. A rosary will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday lead by Damas De Guadalupe. Those wishing to make a donation in honor of Ramona may consider memorial contributions to Humane Society of Saginaw.
