Ramona Dunn, age 83, of Troy, Alabama, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025. She was born on February 20, 1942, in Brewton, Alabama, and was a proud graduate of T. R. Miller High School.
A devoted woman of faith, Ramona was a lifelong member of Northside Baptist Church in Troy and, in her later years, attended First Baptist Church of Spanish Fort. Her love for serving others was evident through her longtime involvement with the Alabama Baptist Women's Missionary Union (WMU) and her dedication to international mission work. Ramona's life was a beautiful example of kindness, service, and steadfast faith. She touched countless lives with her warmth, grace, and unwavering devotion to her family and her Lord.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristi Dunn, and her son, Chuck Dunn (Wini); as well as her beloved grandsons-Ethan Prolsdorfer, Christopher Prolsdorfer, Elliot Prolsdorfer, Gardner Dunn and Bryan Dunn; sisters: Cathy Holmes (David) and Kathy Pate.
Ramona was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gardner Dunn; parents, G.T. and Sallie Young and Clara Bell (Stanley).
Funeral services for Ms. Dunn will be held on Saturday, October 25, at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy, Alabama with Tony Walters and Paul Matthews officiating. Pallbearers will be Grady Reeves, Jason Reeves, John Reeves, Michael Dunn, Quinn Renfroe, David Holmes, and Todd Swindall. Burial will follow at Sandfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Robyn Dansby and the staff at Troy Health and Rehabilitation for their loving and compassionate care over the past four years, and to Amy Hixon and the staff of DaySpring Hospice for their additional support during the last month.
