Ramona Schell

Ramona Irene Schell, 96, Topeka, Kansas, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2025.

Ramona was born April 5, 1929, in Morrill, Kansas. (Because she was born right at midnight, the doctor told her mother she could choose which day would be Ramona's birthday, the 5th or the 6th.) Her parents were Annie Van Gilder Aumiller Jellison and Maurice Aumiller. Ramona was a graduate of Topeka High School. On November 20, 1965, Ramona and Gerald Sylvester Schell were united in marriage, enjoying 60 years together.

In 1980, Ramona opened Schell Real Estate, operating as owner and broker. She was a savvy businesswoman, knowledgeable and entertaining, a member of the Baptist faith since she was 22 years old, always tried to do the right thing, loved Jesus Christ, and was "blessed to have Jesus with me all my adult life."

Left to cherish Ramona's memory are her husband, Gerald Schell; daughter, Janelle Pratt; grandchildren, Michelle Marzetta, Ryan Pratt and Lindsay Schell; and great-grandchildren, Ashley Steed and Bobby De Lorge. Ramona was preceded in death by her son, Ramon Schell on June 30, 2003, and her sisters, Dola Hall and Marlene Lindemuth.

Graveside service for Ramona will be 11 a.m., Friday, January 9, 2026, at Rochester Cemetery.
