It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ramsey Emile Hashem on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the age of 61. Ramsey was born on December 25, 1962, in Lebanon to the late Emile Hashem and Souad (Habib) Hashem
Loving husband of Cheri Palmer. Beloved father of Emilie Tanya Hashem. Dear brother of the late Hal (Adma), Khaled (Souraya), Zeina, and Rhonda (Chadi Jeshi). Much-loved uncle of Nataly (Olivier Ragain), Emily (James Fredericks), Carly (Kristopher Lavoie), and Dalia. Cherished great-uncle of Luca, Ella, Milo, Sophia, Rafael, and Theo.
He will be dearly missed by his uncle, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, mother- and father-in-law, brothers- and sisters-in-law, six nieces- and nephews-in-law, and relatives in Canada, the USA, Brazil, and Lebanon, as well as countless friends and colleagues across the world.
Ramsey shook hands with Pope Francis in Italy, attended the coronation of King Charles from the streets of London, and, despite his incredible humility, was a powerful and successful businessman who mentored many and was a friend to all. Above all, he was a devoted family man whose love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life. His beautiful young daughter, Emilie, was the absolute pride and joy of his heart, and his eyes would light up whenever he spoke of her. He was a loving and steadfast partner to his wife, Cheri, with whom he shared a deep bond built on unwavering love and respect. Ramsey’s dedication to his family was the cornerstone of his being; his kindness, warmth, and strength touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those he loved.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at West Cobb Funeral Home, 2480 Macland Road, Marietta, GA 30064.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the same location, followed by a gathering, with the location to be announced at the service.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Melkite Catholic Church, 1161 North River Road, Ottawa, Canada.
