Randall "Randy" John Bohr, 62, of Ossian, Iowa passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at his home after multiple battles with cancer. Randy was born July 23, 1961 to Carl and Marilyn (Linderbaum) Bohr in Decorah, Iowa. He graduated from South Winneshiek High School in Calmar, Iowa with the class of 1979.
On February 12, 1983, Randy was united in marriage with Lori Mikota at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian, Iowa. Three children were born to this union. Randy worked as a Dairy Herd Improvement Supervisor before establishing his own business, Bohr Builders. He worked with his sons, brothers, and in-laws providing residential construction services in Ossian and the surrounding communities. His strong work ethic was obvious to anyone in his presence. Randy had an impressive ability to rally everyone around a project and was excited to see ideas come to life. His 'go-getter' attitude and expectation of excellence has been passed on to his children. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church serving on both the school board and the parish council. Randy belonged to the Knights of Columbus, the South Winn Booster Club and Silver Springs Country Club. He liked golfing and playing cards, as well as enjoying a beverage after a long day of work. His greatest joy was spending time with grandkids, family, and friends.
Surviving Randy are his wife, Lori of Ossian, Iowa; his three children, Stephanie (Michael) Carper of Auburn, Indiana, Nathan Bohr of Ossian, Iowa and Justin (Abbie) Bohr of Ossian, Iowa; four grandchildren, Henry and Emma Carper and Boden and Brock Bohr; mother, Marilyn Bohr of Ossian, Iowa; five siblings, Scott (Karen) Bohr of Marion, Iowa, Mike (Julie) Bohr of Castalia, Iowa, Bruce (Chris) Bohr of Ossian, Iowa, Michele (Clay) Breitsprecher of Castalia, Iowa and Karla (Kyle) Numedahl of Ossian, Iowa; father-in-law, Edward Mikota of Ossian, Iowa and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Preceding Randy in death were his father, Carl Bohr in 1984; grandparents, John and Anna Bohr and Edward and Marie Linderbaum; and his mother-in-law, Martha Mikota.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before mass at the church on Friday.

What a great friend to work with. He worked for DHIA testing, we shared the same birthday plus his daughters. May God be with all his family at this time.
