Collin Ryan Hageman, age 21 of Spillville, Iowa died in a car accident on April 23, 2025. His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Collin was born on September 10, 2003, in Cresco, IA. Collin grew up surrounded by family and friends who cherished his kind spirit and helpful nature. He graduated from South Winneshiek High School in 2022, where he bult lasting friendships and began to cultivate the passions that would define his life.
Collin had a deep love for working with his hands. It started as a young boy of life on the farm. Helping fix fences, working on the corral, working on tractors or whatever broke that day on the farm. If he wasn't working at No Limit Diesel, he was under the hood of a car or truck as a self-proclaimed "grease monkey." Whether perfecting his skills in cooking and smoking MEAT, or spending time outdoors on the river kayaking, fishing, and hunting. He approached everything he did with enthusiasm and care. He also enjoyed playing video games with friends sharing laughter and comradery that brought joy to many.
Family was central to Collin's short life. He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Valerie Bode and special friend; his father, Joseph Hageman; his brother, Nicholas Hogan and fiancée Jess; and his special little nephew Cassius.
His family includes his grandparents, Charlie and Arlis Bode, Mike and Marsha Hageman, his aunts and uncles: Nathan Hageman, Dean and Nancy Franzen, Tasha and Tony Anderson, and Cody Warnke. Along with many cousins and other extended family.
Collin was proceeded in death by his uncle, Ryan Bode; great uncle Tim Nelson; 2nd cousin Heather Nelson; great grandparents Helen and Frank Zakostelecky, Don and Delores Nelson, Lenon and Francis Hageman and Paul and Dixie Bode. As well as great uncles; Joey, Scott, and David Zakostelecky and Jerry Hageman.
In keeping with Collin's generous spirit, he was an organ donor – a final act of kindness that reflects the way he lived his live: always thinking of others.
A celebration of life to honor Collin will be at Fort Atkinson Community Center Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 1 – 4 p.m.
Though Collin's time with us was far too short, the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn his loss.
